Until August 31, designers will have the opportunity to submit their products for consideration, a release by the Secretariat of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union said.
The exhibition will "give Latvia a great opportunity to promote public awareness of high quality Latvian design. With the help of Latvian embassies the travelling exhibition 'Proud Latvia' allow a large international audience to become acquainted with both Latvia and Latvian design works," a description of the project said.
Eligible products must have already won some form of international design award, be a successful export product, have appeared in foreign exhibitions and - in a rather enigmatic definition - combine both "traditional" and "modern" aspects.
Full details of the criteria for submissions can be found by clicking here (in Latvian).
The Latvian Presidency of the Council will take place during the first half of 2015. Latvia will take over the Presidency from Italy and pass it on to Luxembourg.
