Eurovision songs will still be heard in Latvia

Take note – story published 3 years ago

On May 16, 22:00, "Europe Shine a Light" will be aired on LTV1 and Replay.lv in honor of all the songs chosen for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Although the contest has been postponed until next year and the musicians will not be able to perform live in the Netherlands, the "Eurovision 2020: Europe Shine a Light" concert will include all the songs that should have been played in the great arena of Rotterdam.

The show aims to unite Eurovision participants wherever they are, and to surprise the viewers at home in this difficult time.

The contestants will have prepared greetings for Europe. Together, they will perform the song "Love Shine a Light", the 1997 winner of Eurovision.

The show will be lead by the planned Eurovision moderators Chantal Janzen, Edsillia Rombley and Jan Smit. The Latvian broadcast will be translated and commented by the DJ Toms Grēviņš.

Before the show, at 21:20 on May 16, Toms Grēviņš will retrace the steps of the Latvian nominee Samanta Tīna that led her and the song "Still Breathing" to victory in the Eurovision song selection contest Supernova.

Whether Samanta Tīna will be able to represent Latvia in Eurovision next year will be announced by Latvian Television in the week of the show. An affirmative is a distinct possibility and would probably save a considerable amount of cash.

On May 16, tune in to discussion with Samanta Tīna at 21:20 and the concert "Europe Shine a Light" at 22:00 on LTV1 and Replay.lv.
