At the annual Riga City festival, on August 15, the Latvian Publishers' Association is organizing a guided walk around Riga with stories about culture and history, the Association said August 10.

Latvian Publishers' Association said that they would be showing well-known sites of Riga from a different point of view. At each stop, participants will not only learn cultural and historical facts, but will also be presented with a book, a task, or other activity.

The walk is intended for families with children and others interested in the history of Riga, the treasures of the Latvian National Library and the Latvian Culture Canon.

During the Riga Festival on August 15 and 16, visitors to Vērmanes Garden will also be welcomed by the “Book Street”, where Latvia's most active publishers will be present with latest books.

The tours will take place on 15 August at 12:00; 13:00; 15:00; 16:00, and last an hour and a half.

To meet safety requirements, participants must sign up for a tour until August 13, writing an email to [email protected].

LSM already reported that the annual Riga City Festival would be somewhat quieter this year but still offer a variety of activities.

The Riga Festival program and current events is available on the website www.rigassvetki.lv.
