March is designated Francophone (French-speaking) month at the Institut Français in Latvia, with a highlight of the program the chance to watch a selection of specially selected French language films online from March 10.

This year, the Francophone Film Festival celebrates its 10th edition and offers films produced or co-produced by Canada, France, Moldova and Switzerland.

"The seven films selected perfectly reflect the eclecticism, dynamism and uniqueness of French-language cinema. Between fiction and documentary, dramatic comedy, literary adaptation or even comics, La Francophonie adapts to all genres," says publicity material.

The films are offered with the support of the Embassy of Canada, the Embassy of Moldova, the Embassy of Switzerland, the Embassy of France and the Institut Francais in Latvia.

All the films can be viewed for free and you can also find out about other initiatives during the month which include a poetry competition and virtual discussions with writers.
