Get turned on to the Lampa festival

Take note – story published 5 years ago

A reminder that the always enjoyable and stimulating Lampa conversation festival takes place in Cēsis June 29 and 30 with several of the items on the program taking place in English.

Cēsis castle park and its surrounding area will be full of stands, marquees and other indescribable temporary structures where presentations, panel discussions and question and answer sessions of all kinds will be taking place to give your brain some exercise and possibly even change the way you think about certain topics.

LSM will be present too with a dedicated children's tent providing activities courtesy of our young children's channel LSM Bērnistaba (LSM Nursery).

What is usually a secure and safe virtual site will take on physical form. Children will be able to play games, engage in research, glue, draw and paint both in the real environment and using technology.

LSM English editor Mike Collier hosting one of the final events, a discussion about the future of Europe featuring Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs.

There will also be extensive contributions from many of the leading journalists and presenters of LTV and Latvian Radio, and many of the discussions will be streamed live on the LSM Latvian service website. Even if you miss them, many radio and TV discussions will be available in the archives of the RE:play online viewing site.

Of particular interest in election year will be a special "political arena" where many political parties will pitch their tents and attempt to persuade voters to back them on October 6.

Full details and the festival program are available at the official website. Entrance is free of charge - see you at Lampa!
