Latvian classics added to film selection available worldwide

The selection of Latvian film classics on the National Film Center's (NKC) portal filmas.lv has been supplemented with some more 20th-century films, available for viewing worldwide with subtitles in different languages, NKC said November 17.

Currently, 30 films are included in the selection – 18 feature films, six documentaries and six animations.

Five feature films have been recently added to the collection: Pie bagātās kundzes (1969), Puika (1977), Limuzīns Jāņu nakts krāsā (1981), Akmeņainais ceļš (1983), and Dzīvīte (1989). 

Three documentaries and three animations have also been added: in the documentary list, Krasts (1963) about a fishermen's village, Mūžs (1972) telling the biography of a Soviet kolkhoz chairman Edgars Kauliņš, and Saruna ar karalieni (1980) – a story of legendary Latvian actress Vija Artmane.

The animation selection has been supplemented by Tīģeris Ņau-Ņau (1967), Zelta sietiņš (1975), and Kabata (1983).
