Traditionally, the biggest celebration takes place in Rīga, so we are offering an overview of the events in the capital. For information on the celebration in other cities, check the local municipality website.
Rīga center
On Friday, November 18, a formal flower-laying ceremony will begin at 10:30 near the Freedom Monument. At 13:30 the traditional military parade of the National Armed Forces, Interior Ministry units, and foreign units will take place on the 11. novembra krastmala embankment.
From 12:00 Latvian organ music dedicated to Ukraine will be played at Rīga Doma church. At 16:00, at the cultural and folk arts center "Mazā ģilde" a concert “Landscape of the Motherland”, with a mixed choir of Rīga Doma choir school and pianist Agnese Egliņa will be performed. At 17:00, the Latvian Museum of War will host a concert by the folklore and ancient battle group Vilkači.
In a solemn event dedicated to the 104th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, a concert will be held from 19:30 at the Freedom Monument with the address of the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, the anthem of the Republic of Latvia, as well as the performances by Riga chamber music choir “Ave Sol”, the orchestra “Riga” and the soloist Goran Gora.
At 21:00, Mazā ģilde, a concert by the youth choir Balsis, bassist Haralds Arnis, pianist Valts Pūce and singer Andris Sējāns, as well as the instrumental ensemble led by Ieva Dzērve, will be held.
Between 10:00 and 18:00, an exhibition "Satversme 100+" (Constitution 100+) on the anniversary year of the Constitution of Latvia will be free for everyone at the National Museum of History of Latvia. From 13:00 to 21:00 at the cinema Splendid Palace, a Latvian film selection will be offered for a special price.
Rīga neighborhoods
At the culture center Ziemeļblāzma, a concert of orchestra Rīga and mixed choir Juventus will take place at 15:00. At the VEF Culture center, Aija Andrejeva, Zigfrīds Muktupāvels, Igo, Rūta Dūduma will perform in a concert at 16:00, whereas at the culture center Iļģuciems, the Latvian Voices will perform at 19:30.
From 19:00 to 22:00, festivities will take place in Arkādijas Park, Ziemeļblāzma culture center park, Latgales Park and by VEF culture center. A fire, hot drinks, singing together, live stream from the Doma square and Freedom Monument, and other festivities will be offered.

As usual, public transport on buses, trolleybuses and trams in the capital will be free of charge all day long.
