The festival features about a dozen non-fiction films. Organizers say this year's program intends to contribute to a discussion that values the creative potential of happenstance, discovery, and surprise as central aspects of filmmaking.
Directors will be present for discussion either in person or by video call.
Aside from the regular program, the festival will hold a retrospective and masterclass on the work of documentary filmmaker Sean McAllister. Four of his movies will be screened.
The festival is held at the dainty movie house “Kino Bize” in Riga.
It is organized in collaboration with the Latvian Association of Anthropologists, Tallinn University, supported by Culture Capital Foundation, Riga City Council and the British Council.
