According to organizer Māris Briežkalns, himself an accomplished percussionist, there'll be more than 20 performances within four days during the festival.
The festival will kick off on Wednesday with a performance by American sax player Derek Brown, the Dutch band The Brag Pack and the afro-jazz trio Cissokho-Bronnimann-Hason at the Origo Summer Stage by Rīga's Central Station.
Don't miss the presentation of the Mare Balticum CD on Sunday following Justin Kauflin's performance. Mare Balticum features jazzy interpretations of Latvian folk songs, performed by the Latvian Radio Big Band and arranged by James Morrison.
In addition to bringing precious music to Latvia, Rigas Ritmi holds workshops and has in the past sparked wonderful collaborations between Latvian and international artists.
