Book fair
On December 17 and 18, from 10:00 to 18:00, a book fair will be open at the Rīga Latvian Society (Rīgas Latviešu biedrība) building. Major and minor publishers will offer their newest books for holiday prices. While you're there, you can also check out the big Christmas Market in Vērmanes dārzs right opposite the Latvian Society so your gift set is complete.
Pets
On December 18 and 19, at Ķīpsala Exhibition Hall, the international pet industry fair PetExpo will take place, with pet shows, seminars, masterclasses and pet food and accessory sales. More information and tickets on the website.
Dod pieci
From December 17 to 23, the Dod pieci charity marathon is up and running (more information on our other story). Visit the DJs in Doma Square or chip in your fiver for a song on air for a good cause!
