Three for the Weekend: Music, literature and art

Take note – story published 6 years ago

Electronic music, eye-candy-accompanied poetry as well as geometric art are in store for the weekend.

Electronic Music in Rīga

The Under Electronic Music Festival is taking place May 26-28 in Rīga featuring dozens of home-grown and international names at a former industrial complex (yay!). Tickets are still available for what will be the largest warehouse rave in Latvia this year for sure.

Geometric art

The Mūkusala Art Gallery is featuring Transitional Forms by Atis Izands (1986).

The English-language description scores points for brevity: "The exposition is shaped by the relation of painting with light and geometry, its move beyond the plane and transformation in order to make an artistic whole."

Burroughs' dreams

While literature-minded visitors on Friday evening might enjoy a rendition of William S. Burroughs' dream world in sound and music by Sabīne Moore backed by Artis Ostups' readings.

This is the concluding event of the week-long Punctum magazine festival.
