Latvian poetry in English

John Malkovich reading
On June 16 in Jūrmala the celebrated actor John Malkovich will be reading selections from Ernesto Sabato's novel "On Heroes and Tombs".
He'll be accompanying a performance of Piano Concerto by late 20th-century Russian composer Alfred Schnittke, as performed by Hungary's Danubia Orchestra Obuda, and piano soloist Anastasya Terenkova.
Performance fest
The STARPTELPA Riga Performance Art Festival is taking place June 11 through 17. Performances include Nebula by photographer and choreographer Vika Eksta and poet/artist Jeļena Glazova; bureaucrat and poet Agnese Krivade's performance with local hip person Labais Dāma; and others.
