Take note – story published 1 year ago

For those who are starting the new academic year or simply feeling the autumn chill, here are a few events to remind you that summer is still present somehow.

White Night

The annual modern culture forum “White Night” will take place in Riga on  September 3, 2022,  for the 17th consecutive year. This year's program includes events and projects that will represent a broad supply of contemporary culture – music, cinema and video, poetry, performances, etc.

All events can be found on the White Night website.

Survival Kit

The opening of the 13th edition of the international contemporary art festival Survival Kit 13 // Little Bird Must Be Caught will take place on September 3, 19:00, Pils Street 23 in the old town. The Survival Kit will explore freedom of speech and sound, as well as various forms of resistance placing the Singing Revolution and Latvian local history in the context of global processes and our shared present.

Coast of Light

In case you are in the mood for a different White Night, you can travel to the Ragaciems Lighthouse, where lights will be lit along the coast from Ragaciems all the way to Engure, with a live chain of people dancing the same steps flashmob-like. To participate, you must register at https://gaismaskrasts.lv/ and learn the dance steps provided in the video.
