Exhibit shows over 100 years of candy wrappers in Latvia

At least a thousand candy wrappers produced in Latvia – and not only – have been compiled in one collection. Its creator, Arnita Ķerubine, says this is history too, only from a different perspective. The collection is now in Daugavpils, LRT+ reported on March 20.

Arnita Ķerubine began collecting at the age of 10 when her sister was given a collection of candy wrappers collected by a relative. In total, four collectors have been involved.

Some have survived since the beginning of the 20th century from Daugavpils candy factories.  Arnita doesn't know how many there are, but she estimates there might be about a thousand.

Although Arnita is no longer so active in collecting, she hasn't put that fascination aside.

Visitors to the exhibition said that it brings up memories and can show how artists once thought.

The exhibition of the collection of candy wrappers at the Latgale Central Library branch in the Jaunbūves Library in Daugavpils will be on view until the end of April.
