Food innovation is on the table in Rīga

EIT Food – which describes itself as  "the world’s largest food innovation community" –  is holding its 2023 Annual Event in Rīga, Latvia on 27-28 June, uniting stakeholders across the food innovation community.

EIT Food is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.

The first of its kind event in the Baltic region, the fifth Annual Event is set to unite a diverse range of people from across the entire food value chain "to address unlocking barriers to systemic change" according to advance materials.

This year’s gathering is expected to focus on transforming food systems, demonstrating the power of innovation in addressing global food and climate challenges through interactive sessions, panel discussions and networking opportunities.

The event will also showcase some of the latest cohort of 63 startups joining EIT Food’s entrepreneurship programmes, which range from boosting the natural immunity of bees to creating sustainable palm oil alternatives.

“We are delighted to bring our fifth Annual Event to Latvia where we will galvanise the food innovation community towards tackling some of the greatest challenges facing our food system. The Baltic region has produced some of Europe’s most exciting innovations in agrifood in recent years, and hosting an event on this scale offers huge opportunities to foster collaboration and continue to grow our community," said Dr. Andy Zynga, CEO of EIT Food.
