Four hundred tomato species: can you ketch-up?

Take note – story published 3 years ago

The Latvian Museum of Natural History will hold its traditional tomato exhibition from 19 to 23 August. More than 400 different tomato varieties will be seen together, the exhibition organizers said in a press release August 17.

Breeders create new and increasingly unusual tomato varieties all the time, varying in their size, shape, color and flavor. The exhibition will offer the opportunity to look at both the Latvian breeders' newest and the world's already well-known and noteworthy tomato varieties.

As usual, during the exhibition, anyone interested will be able to purchase and order tomato seeds and to receive advice from the leading Latvian tomato growers.

In order to ensure the safety of visitors and to comply with national rules on gatherings and public events, 25 people will be allowed to be present at the same time in the exhibition.

The exhibition "Tomatoes 2020" will take place at the Latvian Museum of Natural History (Krišjāņa Barona Street 4) August 19 to 23.
