The head of the National Heritage Administration (NKMP)'s Section for the Circulation of Cultural Objects, Jānis Asaris, said that the interinstitutional working group established in the administration has evaluated suggestions made by local governments regarding a total of 70 objects of similar importance placed on the territory of Latvia. Consequently, the number of additional objects dismantled by local governments could increase further, as the municipalities have committed themselves to continue their dismantling work after November 15.
The KM representative reiterated that the dismantling requirement did not apply for objects at burial sites.
According to the MK regulations of July 14, the list of 69 objects to be dismantled in the territory of the Republic of Latvia and glorifying Nazi and Soviet regimes had been approved and had to be dismantled until November 15.
