"James Joyce struggled to get Ulysses printed. Before it was published in full, part of his epic and experimental novel appeared in serialised format. In a world today when new, emerging authors, experimental works, and lesser-heard voices are competing to make it to print, we look at the vibrant scene of literary journals and ask what role they can play in bringing literature to life,"' says advance publicity material.
The editor of Latvia's Punctum magazine, Vilis Kasims, and founder/editor of Ireland's Gorse, Susan Tomaselli will be joined by well-known writer and poet Inga Gaile as moderator of the conversation.
To set the scene for the conversation, Kristine Papule, Senior Bibliographer at the National Library of Latvia, will share images of Ireland through the eyes of early 20th century Latvia.
If you wish to attend, you need to register using Eventbrite before the 14th June.
