The main theme of the concert program will be Latvian composers who have left a mark in the history of Latvian cinema – Jānis Mediņš, Jānis Ivanovs, Ringolds Ore, Ivars Vīgners, Imants Kalniņš, Raimonds Pauls, Lolita Ritmanis, Raimonds Tiguls, and Rihards Zaļupe.
The program mainly includes instrumental music. The music was specially arranged for this concert by Kārlis Vanags, it will be played by the Latvian Radio Big Band, the string musicians of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and the Latvian Radio Choir.
As every year, the winners of the school competition "My speech as the President of Latvia on the birthday of Latvia" will be honored.
