Latvian singer, musician Alex dies

Latvian rock band's Opus Pro musician and lead vocalist Alex (Oļegs Andrejevs) has passed away, the musician's family announced December 27.

The musician was born on October 10, 1962, in Daugavpils. Alex was in the lead of Opus Pro since 1986, along with guitarist and songwriter Harijs Zariņš.

In the early 1990s, he also worked in the United States, the Latvian band  “Riga”. In 2011, after a long pause, Alex returned to the stage, then actively collaborating with former band member Harijs Zariņš, his daughter Aija Andrejeva, and actively performed with Opus Pro.

In 2015, the album “Riga in America”, recorded by the band “Riga”, was released in the United States, in which Alex participated with Ainars Virga, Uldis Marhilēvičs, Igo, and Guntis Vecgailis.
