'Rīgas Ritmi' to jazz up Rīga next week

Music festival Rīgas Ritmi (Riga Rhythms), featuring improvisation, jazz, and world music, will be happening in Latvia again from June 30 to July 3, organizers announced.

The 21st edition of the festival will open on June 30 with the jazz pianist Rūdolfs Macats' performance at M/Darbnīca cultural space in the square of K.K. fon Stricka villa, Aristīda Briāna Street 9.

The festival will continue July 1, 2, and 3, with performances by local and foreign artists taking place at M/Darbnīca, music house Daile, Noass, and VEF Culture Palace.

In two decades, more than 1000 concerts have taken place within the festival, featuring around 600 musicians, including Bobby McFerrin, Pat Metheny, Take 6, Richard Bona, and others. In 2020, the festival received the prestigious EFFE festival label.
