Search begins for Latvia's Eurovision contender

On September 22, the submission of songs opened to Latvian Television's "Supernova" show which will decide who represents the country at Eurovision in the UK next May.

Songs can be entered into the competition until December 1.

Latvia has failed to qualify for the Eurovision final for several years now, the last success being Justs in 2016, who finished 15th in the final.

Latvia did win the contest once, back in 2002 with Marie N's "I wanna".

Nevertheless, the performers and the producers of the show remain as optimistic as ever and will be dreaming of repeating the trick over two decades later.

If you fancy trying your chances of getting a free ticket to the UK next spring, the full details of the competition and a description of how to submit your song are available at the official Supernova website https://supernova.lsm.lv/lv/.
