'Women Warriors' project wins Grammy award

Latvian-American composer Lolita Ritmane (pictured right, above) has won a "Grammy" award for the album "Women Warriors - The Voices Of Change" which was recorded in Latvian Radio's studio in Rīga.

The Grammys are the prestigious annual awards of the U.S. music recording industry. Ritmane was among the winners in the 'Best Classical Compendium' category for her work as a producer and composer on the album 'Women Warriors - The Voices Of Change' alongside collaborators Amy Andersson (conductor/producer) and Mark Mattson (producer).

According to the project's website, it is "a ground-breaking concert creation that honors the strength and heroism of global activists fighting for social justice" and also involved the Rīga Cathedral Girls' Choir under conductor Aira Birzina.

In all, 86 different categories were awarded at the 2022 Grammy awards.
