It's now two wins from two in the World Cup warm-up series, following an earlier victory over Sweden.
The next tests will be against the Dominican Republic on August 12, and then against Finland on August 16. On August 20, the Latvian national team will meet with Puerto Rico in Taiwan, and on August 22 will take on neighbors Lithuania.
The Latvian national team will play the World Cup finals in Indonesia, in a qualifying group with France, Canada and Lebanon. It is the first time Latvia has been represented at the World Cup finals.
