Another Latvian beach volleyball duo advance toward medal

Take note – story published 2 years ago

The Latvian men's beach volleyball duo Mārtiņš Pļaviņš and Edgars Točs followed the footsteps of women's team Tīna Graudiņa and Anastasija Kravčenoka August 4 in fighting their way into the Olympic semi-finals.

The pair won against Brazilian team Alison/Alvaro Filho 2-0 (21:16, 21:19).

The win means the Latvian contenders are into the semi-finals, making them one of the last four teams in the competition with three medals to be decided. One more win will guarantee a silver at the very least, while a loss would see them heading into a playoff for bronze.

Brief highlights of the match against Brazil can be seen below (may be subject to geoblocking).
