Kristaps Porzingis and Janis Timma were both outstanding earning 27 points, with 10 points added by Dairis Bertans.
Achsel Ervele was most successful for Belgium with 12 points.
Latvia will continue on Monday against the United Kingdom, which should be a good opportunity for another win. Next week, games will also be played against Russia and Turkey.
