Latvia ends hockey world championships with a win over Norway

Take note – story published 5 years and 2 months ago

Latvia played its final game at the IIHF world championships in Slovakia May 21, ending its campaign with a convincing 4:1 win against Norway.

It means Latvia finished the tournament in 5th position in Group B and in 9th position overall for the championships, having failed to make the knock-out stages involving the top 8 teams. But that ranking is good enough to ensure they will return to world championship action next year when the tournament is hosted by Switzerland. Then in 2021, all eyes will be on Latvia once again when it hosts the 2021 tournament.
