Latvia prepares for big hockey game against Canada

Take note – story published 6 years and 2 months ago

Latvia's national ice hockey team on May 14 face Canada in an important match at the IIHF world championships in Denmark.

And while a match in two days' time against hosts Denmark is likely to decide whether Latvia advance to the latter stages of the tournament, the chance of securing a surprise result against a powerful Canadian team is not being ignored, with the team management - led by Canadian coach Bob Hartley - insisting an upset is possible after Latvia defeated Germany May 12.

Previews and updates when the match is in progress (starting 21:00 Riga time) will be available at the official championship website HERE
