Latvian beach volleyball duo moves closer to another Olympic medal

Take note – story published 2 years ago

Latvia's chances of winning more Olympic medals gained further force August 3 with women's beach volleyball pair Tīna Graudiņa and Anastasija Kravčenoka showing real character and fighting spirit in overcoming Canadian duo Heather Bansley and Brandie Wilkerson 2-1 (21: 13,18: 21, 15:11).

The win means the Latvian contenders are into the semi-finals, making them one of the last four teams in the competition with three medals to be decided. One more win will guarantee a silver at the very least, while a loss would see them heading into a playoff for bronze.
