Sevastova through to second round of Bucharest WTA

On Tuesday, Latvia's top-ranked lady tennis player Anastasija Sevastova defeated Romania's Ana Bogdan 5-7, 7-6 (7:4), 7-5 in the opening round of the Bucharest WTA International series tennis tournament.

At the moment Sevastova is ranked 11th in the world, while Bigdan is ranked 127th.

Sevastova has earned 30 WTA ranking points for advancing to the second round of the Bucharest tournament, where she will take on Romania's Patricia Tig, who is currently unranked.

Sevastova triumphed in the Bucharest tournament last year.
