The director, Ilze Bloka, said: "My mom was mushrooming, my grandfather was mushrooming, and I realized that the forest was a magical place where people meet, and the forest says a lot about human relations. If mushrooms are said to be magical, then this story will absolutely be magical and one that has not been in any other theater."
The performance is set in a mushrooming championship, and the mushroom world is played through contemporary dance.
Indra Burkovska, the main actor, is a passionate mushroomer herself: "I suffer very much when I go mushroom-picking and I have to collect plastic bottles and bags. I think we live at a time when the question to be or not to be is topical, and we must not be careless about nature or ourselves. The story of our show is about nature. If we destroy nature, the world will be destroyed, but maybe the mushrooms will stay, and where there are mushrooms there are Latvians, so we have hope. "
The premiere of the contemporary dance play at Dirty Deal Teatro is on November 16, and the shows will also be on in December.
