Latvian businesses invited to apply for cyber-security grants

Entrepreneurs are being invited to apply for financial support to improve their cyber security capabilities.

The Central Finance and Contracts Agency (CFLA) has announced the third call for an open selection of projects, where total funding of 310,000 euros is is available to entrepreneurs in the grant program for the implementation of cyber security in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The European Union (EU) support program developed by the Ministry of Defense aims to promote the transformation of companies' cyber security by facilitating access to innovative cyber security solutions, and to strengthen their cyber resilience.

The amount of the grant available to each company is from 20,000 to 60,000 euros, financing half of the eligible project costs related to, for example, conducting pilot projects of technological solutions, developing and implementing cyber security technologies, and capacity building activities.

More information on how to apply is available at cfla.gov.lv. The closing date for applications is December 4. In the first call, CFLA received 11 submissions from companies, while in the second 5 submissions on the implementation of cyber security projects were received.
