LTRK President: Latvians should help Ukrainians into the European market

The revival of Ukraine's economy will also be an opportunity for Latvian entrepreneurs, who should help Ukrainians to break into the European market, Aigars Rostovskis, president of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said in an interview to Latvian Television on May 26.

This week, the Latvian Economics Minister, ministry representatives, and Latvian entrepreneurs visited Ukraine to strengthen the economic ties. Rostovskis said the situation in Kyiv and Chernihiv seemed surreal, as the city continues to live despite the war. “Ukrainians are fantastically determined,” Rostovskis said.

He noted that after Russia's invasion, Ukraine's economy fell by about 25%. It has stabilized now.

The Latvian side can help medium and small Ukrainian companies break into European markets, he said. “These are those particular things we help with: how to sell, how to work with specific institutions. There's a contact with our people,” Rostovskis said.

The President of LTRK encouraged Latvian businesses to get involved.

“This is our time of opportunity. Clearly, the money invested will be huge. And all those who will be able to contribute will have huge opportunities,” Rostovskis said.
