LIAA's regional branches so far only offered 'business incubator' and cooperation services, but in the future it is planned to offer the full range of the agency's services, including grants for initiatives related to innovation and exports.
LIAA has regional branches in Ventspils, Kuldīga, Liepāja, Saldus, Talsi, Tukums, Jūrmala, Jelgava, Bauska, Ogre, Sigulda, Cēsis, Valmiera, Smiltene, Alūksne, Gulbene, Madona, Jēkabpils, Rēzekne, and Daugavpils.
“The regions play an important role in the development of Latvia's economy, so we want to be closer to our customers. We have now found a model for providing support to a wider range of customers [..]. Incubation and pre-incubation programs have shown good results, and we are confident that we will be able to increase demand for other services provided by the LIAA as well,” Iveta Strupkāja, LIAA's acting director, said.
The incubation and pre-incubation program of the new period is planned to be announced in March, but already entrepreneurs have access to support for export promotion, participation in exhibitions and trade missions, digitization, organization of various large-scale events, and other activities.
