Change at the top of Food Union company

The CEO of the European operation of international ice cream and dairy production and distribution group Food Union, Normunds Staņēvičs has resigned from his position, and his replacement will be Artūrs Čirjevskis, the company announced February 8. No reason was given for Staņēvičs' departure.

Arturs Cirjevskis has been with the Food Union Group as CFO since 2015 when Food Union acquired its third asset in Latvia, Rīgas Piensaimnieks Ltd, the owner of Latvian legacy mega brands Kārums, Dzintars, and Mājas.

Food Union’s commercial strategy and business development in Denmark, Norway and Romania will be the responsibility of Aivar Aus, CEO of Premia TKH, the Estonian ice cream producer, the company added.

Food Union currently sells its dairy products in Europe, Belarus, Russia, China and Pacific Asia. The group is backed by Hong Kong-based investment company Meridian Capital Limited.

According to the company website, Food Union has more than 3,000 employees and annual revenues of more than 280 million euros. It was founded in Latvia by Ukraine-born Russian entrepreneur Andrey Beskhmelnitskiy in 2012.
