Latvenergo named Latvia's most valuable company for the 13th time

Latvian energy concern Latvenergo has been named the most valuable company in the country for the thirteenth time in a row, LETA reported November 25.

The value of Latvenergo is estimated at €1.653 billion, which is 5% more than a year earlier, when the value of the company was estimated at €1.568 billion.

Latvenergo was recognized as the most valuable energy company in the Baltics this year, as the value of the Estonian company Eesti Energia is €1.615 billion, while Lithuania's Ignitis grupe is €1.491 billion.

The result was confirmed in the annual rankings produced by consultancy Prudentia and market operator Nasdaq Riga since 2005.

Among the three Baltic states, Latvenergo ranked third behind Vilniaus Prekyba and Swedbank group. The top ten of the most valuable companies in the Baltic States featured also forestry company Latvijas valsts meži, a newcomer to the top ten, ranking eighth. 

The ten most valuable companies in the Baltic States this year are Vilniaus Prekyba, Swedbank, Latvenergo, Eesti Energia, Thermo Fisher Scientific Baltics, Ignitis grupe, Tallink Grupp, Latvijas valsts meži, Lietuvos geležinkeliai and SEB.
