The 500 Startups pitch competition winner will get fast-tracked to the final interview for Batch 25 at the Silicon Valley accelerator program. The startup will have the opportunity to qualify for a 4-month long intensive seed program and a $150,000 seed fund.
Winner Asya is a Latvian startup, which has developed an AI-powered app and wearable necklace designed to help people "practice mindfulness in their everyday communication with other people."
The app listens and analyses conversations by tracking emotions and words.
Estonia's CostPocket was the winner of the Rockstart Pitch Competition at the Digital Freedom Festival. Rockstart is an international union of founders, entrepreneurs, investors and mentors.
CostPocket enables companies to streamline their expense reporting processes, and their Mobile app uses integrated cloud-based accounting software to help avoid wasting time collecting receipts, digitalizing them and then creating separate reports.
CostPocket will have the opportunity to take part in the final selection round for the accelerator program hosted by Rockstart in the Netherlands during autumn of 2019.
The Rockstart competition will give the winning startup the opportunity to recieve a prize of EUR 20,000, as well as additional financing for office rental and support from mentors totaling EUR 80,000.
MEanwhile the EIT Climate-KIC accelerator was looking for businesses that have chosen to solve climate change problems by promoting the development of environmentally friendly technology solutions at their pitch competition. The winner was inLable - a science-based startup claiming to offer the most versatile labeling and authenticity verification system.
In turn the LU Student Business Incubator pitch competition winner is Latvian startup Crypto Police. They've created a community-based scam identification protocol - a multilevel verification algorithm that helps to protect users online.
The Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) also chose their top three startups to win an opportunity to pitch on the DFF main stage. The selected startups were: Lovat, YoPlayDo and Orocon.
