The total financing available to Latvia will be EUR 102.1 million which is by EUR 29.15 million or 40 percent more than during the previous period.

"The signing of the memoranda begins a new inspiring stage in successful cooperation between the countries of the European Economic Area (EEA) and Latvia. We can be proud of the accomplishments during the period but in the current period we intend to step up support to the areas where we see opportunities for bringing about major changes in people's lives," said Reizniece-Ozola.
"I warmly welcome this opportunity to reinforce the close friendship and political relations between Iceland and Latvia. Cooperation on child friendly justice is one example of important activities ahead," said Gudlaugur Thor Thordarson, Iceland's Foreign Minister.
Support will be provided under the following programs: Research and Education (EUR 14.5 million); Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Cultural Cooperation (EUR 10 million); International Police Cooperation and Combating Crime (EUR 15 million); Civil Society (EUR 8.5 million); Business Development, Innovation and SMEs (EUR 12.5 million); Climate Change Mitigation, Adaptation and Environment (EUR 14 million); Correctional Services (EUR 13 million); Bilateral Fund (EUR 2.442 million); and Social Dialogue (EUR 0.5 million).
The EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021 represent funding from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to reduce economic and social disparities and strengthen cooperation with 15 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe and the Baltics.
