The level of prices of products sold on the domestic market decreased by 13.1 %, and prices of exported products – by 4.9 %. Prices of products exported to euro area countries decreased by 5.2 % and of products exported to non-euro area countries by 4.8 %.
Price drop in heat and gas supply, trade and manufacture of electricity; manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork (except furniture), as well as the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, had downward impact on the level of producer prices during the year. Printing and reproduction of recorded media, as well as manufacture of beverages had an upward impact on the producer price changes.
In October 2023, compared to September 2023, the level of producer prices in Latvian industry decreased by 1.6 %. The level of prices of products sold on the domestic market decreased by 2.5 %, and prices of exported products – by 0.8 %. Producer prices of products exported to euro area countries reduced by 0.5 % and prices of products exported to non-euro area countries – by 1.0 %.
Price drop in trade, distribution and manufacture of electricity, heat supply, as well as manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork (except furniture) had downward impact on the overall level of producer prices during the month. Manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products as well as printing and reproduction of recorded media had upward impact on the producer price changes.
