Power distribution rates to be slightly lower than expected

Electricity distribution network provider JSC “Sadales Tikls” (ST) has reduced the costs to be included in the electricity distribution tariff in 2024 by EUR 8.2 million. This will allow the company to reduce the fixed charge of the distribution tariff by 7-11% and the variable charge by 1%, ST reported on November 29.

The specific reduction will depend on the type of connection of the user – voltage level, connection capacity – and the chosen tariff plan.

Changes offered by the “Sadales Tikls” are related to the reduction of electricity price forecasts, general inflation forecasts, and electricity transmission rates.

At the same time, as of January 2024, State aid will come into force to limit the rapid increase of distribution tariffs – the ceiling for the increase of the fixed fee share of the tariff.

Taking into account both the specified distribution tariff values and State aid, the share of the fixed service charge from January 1 2024 with the “basic” tariff plan for the most frequently used 1-phase connections (16-25 amps) will be within the range of 3 to 4.5 euros (excluding VAT), but for the most frequently used 3-phase connections (16-32 amps) within the range of 7 to 26.5 euros (excluding VAT).
