ABLV Bank owners top Latvia's millionaires list

For over ten years already, two ABLV Bank co-owners have been ranked first in the annual top of Latvia's millionaires collated by the business newspaper Dienas Bizness.

This year, ABLV Bank co-owner Olegs Fils is first on the list of Latvia's 100 richest millionaires, and another ABLV Bank co-owner Ernests Bernis is ranked second. Fils' assets are worth €315 million (€5 million up from last year), and Bernis is worth €312 million (also a €5 million increase).

Ranked third is Leonids Esterkins, a majority shareholder in another non-resident bank, Rietumu Banka, whose assets are worth €226 million (€24 million down from 2016).

Communications technology company Mikrotikls co-owner Arnis Riekstins is the fourth wealthiest person in Latvia, with assets worth €162 million (up by €12 million from last year). Another Rietumu Banka shareholder, Arkadijs Suharenko is fifth on the list with assets worth €116 million (decrease of €12 million).

Further down the list are Justs Nikolajs Karlsons (€77 million, €3 million down), Valerijs Maligins (€70 million, €18 million up), Janis Zuzans (€58 million, €11 million down), Argods Lusins (€43 million), and Marcis Martinsons (€42 million, €8 million down).
