The flag-carrier was ranked No 1 globally in punctuality in 2015 by aviation industry experts OAG analysts, who tracked the performance of over 50 million flight records.
Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic said in a press statement: “Our customers can rely on a consistently punctual service. We are a very proud team at airBaltic to have achieved this result for the second year in a row, especially since we see fewer European carriers in the Top 10 ranking compared to a year ago.”
According to OAG, airBaltic achieved a punctuality rating of 94.4% for flights linking the Baltics with destinations in Europe, Middle East and Russia/CIS. It means that more than 9 airBaltic aircraft out of 10 arrive on-time.
airBaltic is followed in the global TOP 10 ranking by Copa Airlines, Azul, Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Finnair, TAM, Austrian Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and LOT.
John Grant, executive vice president, OAG said: “Really big congratulations to everyone at airBaltic; winning once is great, to do it for two consecutive years in our industry is a fantastic achievement and testament to the management team and all employees of the company.”
