airBaltic to launch Salzburg route

Latvian national airline airBaltic said Monday it will launch a new route between Riga and Salzburg on 26 December 2015. 

The new route is expected to be particularly popular with winter holidaymakers heading for the Alps, though the beautiful town of Salzburg is a fine destination in its own right.

Chief Commercial Officer of airBaltic Christophe Viatte said the new route would "offer excellent  opportunities for winter travellers both to the Alps and to Rīga, the most vibrant city in the Baltic region”.

There will be one flight per week, using a Boeing 737-500 for a flight that will last 2 hours 10 minutes.

One-way ticket prices will start at €89 with full details available t the airline's website.

airBaltic serves over 60 destinations from its home base in Riga.
