Bankers top Latvia's rich list

For the fourth year in a row, ABLV Bank owners Olegs Fils and Ernests Bernis top the list of the 100 richest persons in Latvia, according to a study done by journalists Lato Lapsa and Kristine Jancevska, corporate finance company Laika stars and Lursoft, reported LETA Thursday.

Fils' wealth has increased EUR 15 million to EUR 314 million, while Bernis is worth EUR 310 million, also EUR 15 million up from 2014.

Rietumu banka largest shareholder Leonids Esterkins remains in third place with assets worth EUR 266 million, EUR 10 million more than in 2014.

The second largest Rietumu banka shareholder Arkadijs Suharenko is in fourth place with assets worth EUR 136 million - EUR 5 million increase.

Arnis Riekstins, the owner of Mikrotikls, a manufacturer of computer networking equipment, is in fifth place with assets worth EUR 85 million, EUR 5 million up from 2014.

The total worth of assets of Latvia's 100 wealthiest persons is EUR 1.41 billion.
