A hangar is burning on Maskavas Street in Rīga, the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) told Latvian Radio August 20.
The total area of the fire is about 5,480 square meters.
VUGD representative Inta Palkavniece said that firefighters were called to the scene at 3.48 a.m., and with the fire spreading rapidly so that by morning there were about 45 firefighters at the scene.
The fire was put under control at around 7 a.m. Meanwhile LTV reported that it affected a warehouse of the IT firm Mikrotīkls (MikroTik). The company said that the location is insured, and that only one of its warehouses was affected by the fire.

Maskavas Street was closed to traffic near the Rumbula region, but was later reopened.
