Latvenergo has topped the most-valued corporate chart now for six years running, assessed this year at a worth of €1.3m.
Swedbank was deemed the most-valuable company in the Baltic region at €3.2m, including its separate banking operations in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Swedbank also earned second-place behind Latvenergo in Latvia’s separate list.
Speaking to the assembled honorees representing their companies, President Andris Berzins recalled personally learning from the “impressively ambitious” Swedbank corporate leadership as a rival banker during the years of its growth as a front-runner in Baltic banking markets.
Also leading in the TOP101 most-valued firms this year were joint-stock companies Latvijas valsts meži (3rd place), Ventspils nafta (4th) and railroad authority Latvijas dzelzceļš. For the first time, wood-processing company KRONOSPAN Riga entered the top-ten of the list.

This is the ninth time the list has been compiled based on the publicized annual reports of the companies compared with their performance and situation in European stock markets.
