There'll be no significant tax changes in making next year's budget, said Finance Minister Dana Reizniece-Ozola in a Monday interview to Latvian Television.

The minister said that entrepreneurs have been promised stability so there'll be no significant changes in taxes next year.

Of the taxes she mentioned, the minister has proposed "turning the solidarity tax into a social payment" ensuring that entrepreneurs would have financial incentives for making the payment.

Reizniece-Ozola also supported the head of the State Revenue Service Ināra Pētersone, against whom a smear campaign has been started.

The Finance Minister said that the possible culprits are the officials affected by the ongoing position changes of suspect employees at the service.

"The State Revenue Service will be sorted out no matter what the opposition," said Reizniece-Ozola.
