Fixed fee component added to electricity tarriffs

Take note – story published 7 years ago

The new electricity distribution rates of the Sadales Tīkli electricity distribution company become effective August 1, introducing fixed subscription fees for all electricity consumers, reported LETA Monday.

The increase in electricity distribution rates will be compensated for the less well-off.

The new, balanced electricity distribution fees will be lower for those households that use electricity efficiently, but increase for those that do not consume electricity or do not use electricity efficiently.

For instance, households that do not consume electricity will now have to pay a fixed fee of EUR 1.5 a month.

Light bills for households that use little electricity - up to 85 kilowatt/hours a month - will increase EUR 0.23. Households that consume more than 300 kilowatt-hours a month will have their light bills reduced by EUR 2.97.
