Interim council elected for Latvian State Forests

State JSC Latvian State Forests (Latvijas Valsts meži, LVM) elected its interim council on March 3 following the resignation of the entire council, said Agriculture Ministry.

The interim council consists of Mārtiņš Līdums, Zane Driņķe, Mārtinš Gaigals, Sintija Ķikste, and Edvīns Zakovics.

According to Agriculture Ministry, Mārtiņš Līdums, Mārtiņš Gaigals, and Edvīns Zakovics are 'forest industry experts and professionals, Zane Driņķe is a professor at the Turība university with competences in budget and personnel matters, and Sintija Ķikste has experience in international relations and public procurements.

An open competition will be announced for LVM council member posts in the near future.
