Latvian annual inflation 3.3% in May

The latest data released  by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) on June 10 show that in May 2019, compared to May 2018, the average level of consumer prices rose by 3.3 %.

Prices of goods increased by 3.4 % and prices of services – by 3.1 %.

The average level of consumer prices was mainly influenced by the rise in prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, goods and services related to housing, goods and services related to transport, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, goods and services related to recreation and culture, restaurant and hotel services, the CSB said.

Compared to April 2019, in May 2019 the average level of consumer prices rose by 0.2 %. Prices of both goods and services grew by 0.2 %.
